KDay 2012

I woke up and it was 07:30am and I quickly got dressed and ready to hit the road to head to KDay. I went with Monica and her mom. We were all extremely tired and stopped at a McDonald's on the way. We drove past the Engen 1 stop and to our surprise, we saw the KFM Ground Patrol Team drive past us, that is when I knew I couldn't wait for KDay to start! It would be my very first time going to KDay and I knew that it would be one of the best days for this year.

When we arrived at Val de Vie, there was a queue of cars waiting to go into the venue. Monica and I walked ahead to see how many cars there were, but it was car after car after car...
We walked back to our car and after a while, we were allowed to go into the venue. The parking lot was quite hectic, you had to try and find a parking spot and run to get to the line before anyone else as the line to get into the KDay venue was getting longer.
It felt like ages before we could go into the Val de Vie venue. After a while, the Ground Patrol Team came out and asked are we all ready for KDay and we all screamed "YEAH!". After a while, when it got to 11am, we were still waiting to get inside the venue. I could hear that one of the artists were busy with sound checking, I think KFM wanted us to get excited for KDay, even though we were haha!

The gates finally opened, we all got inside the venue and I ran straight to the stage, I even took my shoes off and bolted to get us a perfect spot. I didn't really have to run to get a good spot, as everyone else was walking, taking their time to get a spot. I looked up by the stage and I saw Dan Patlansky and Elvis Blue who were busy with sound checking. Three girls screamed for Elvis Blue and he looked up at them.
I saw KFM members come out with KFM merchandise, so I went to get sunscreen and a KFM cap which I wore for the rest of the day. We waited for a while, then my friend and I decided we were going to walk around and see where everything is. We went to the merchandise table, there was the Look & Listen stand where the music artists came to sign merchandise after their performance and some of the KFM presenters and there was The Greek Merchant table where they sold the music artists merchandise like T-shirts, earrings, necklaces, caps and vests.

While we were at the merchandise table, I saw Cassidy, Terrence and Candice (who are the KFM Ground Patrol Team) and they all knew who I was. I gave Cassidy and Candice a hug and we got pictures taken with them. They are such incredible people, so nice and sweet and are always happy.

After chatting to Cassidy, Terrence and Candice, my friend and I walked around the whole venue, then we went back to out seats. I turned to see Ben Peters from GOODLUCK on stage, so my friend and I went to the stage and said hello to him and then we went right in front were GOODLUCK was going to perform. I found out that before each act, about 2 KFM presenters will come on stage and welcome the music artist on stage. For the first act, which was GOODLUCK, Ryan O' Connor, Charmaine Noy, Jeremy Harris, Deon Bing and Stephen Werner came on stage.

They were so cool and the crowd went crazy when they were on stage. They welcomed GOODLUCK on stage and WOW! GOODLUCK is so awesome when they perform live! I saw them when I went to the KFM Studios on Tuesday but, honestly, I haven't seen them perform live on stage in front of so many people. They are just so AMAZING! Juliet looked stunning in her outfit she was wearing. I still remember she said to the crowd that she received a wonderful gift from my Monica, my friend. When GOODLUCK performed "Taking it Easy" Juliet welcomed Mathew Moolman on stage who is featured in the song. They were both brilliant on stage, it was beautiful to see Mathew and Juliet sing together. Ben came with a drum and Raven came with his saxophone and they both played in front of the stage and everyone, I mean EVERYONE was dancing and going crazy. After a couple of their songs, Juliet gave 2 GOODLUCK CD's away, but in order to win one, you had to dance like crazy. Two girls won the CD's. Overall, GOODLUCK was so cool in stage! I personally think they were my favourite act on stage. With all their music and performance, you cannot help but dance to every song they perform.
After their performance, Mark Pilgrim came on stage and he was live on air with the Kia Take40SA. He asked for all of us (the crowd) to scream and we all did, it was great to see so many people had fun and really had a good time.

Next up were The Arrows. To be honest, I haven't seen The Arrows perform live, but they took my breath away when they started performing their first song. They were amazing! It was cool to see Pam and hear her lovely voice live for the first time and see Christie play the drums, she was really good. They are both very talented.

About halfway in their performance, Monica and I went to see if GOODLUCK was at the merchandise table signing any merchandise or CD's. To our surprise, GOODLUCK was there. As we were in the queue, I turned and saw one of the KFM members bringing out a huge KFM hand, I went to grab one and then I went back to the queue. When Monica and I were in front of the queue and GOODLUCK saw us, we started talking for a while and got our big KFM hand signed as well as cards GOODLUCK had. Juliet thanked Monica for giving her the bracelet and that she'll treasure it.

After chatting to GOODLUCK, we walked past the VIP section and I saw Benito, a KFM presenter, and I got a picture taken with him. He asked me if I would like to be live on air on KFM and I said that I would be delighted to. Benito was talking live on air on KFM and he said that he is going to chat to someone who is here for the first time, then he asked me was KDay everything I expected it to be. I replied saying that it was beyond what I expected, all the enthusiasm, excitement and the people are great and the music artists are just amazing. After the interview, Ian, who work at KFM said that I was brilliant. We also saw Mathew Moolman and my friend and I got a picture taken with him, he is such a talented person with an amazing voice!

After talking to Ian and Benito, Monica and I went back to the merchandise table as I saw Keri miller going there, so we went back and I finally got to meet Keri Miller. She is such an Amazing person and is very pretty! I remember she said that it felt like she has known me forever, which was pretty awesome! It did feel like that. I got a picture taken with her and I got a card signed by her as well as my KFM hand she signed and Deon Bing signed. Deon Bing, he is such a funny person. He was signing cards and said that a card will get you a free beer Haha! (I don't know if that was true though...). The music Artist that was on stage was Loyiso, who was pretty good on stage, everyone that was near the stage went crazy for him and I just saw hands in the air!

Next up, Stacey Norman and Elana Afrika came on stage to welcome Danny K. When he came on stage, all you heard were girls screaming for him. I must tell you that he performed very well, everyone I saw went mad for him and were dancing and singing to his music.

Monica and I walked around more (Yes, we hardly sat down, we just walked, but we were mainly by the Merchandise area Haha!). We saw Liezel van der Westuizen and we got a picture taken with her. She is also very pretty and she was wearing very bright shoes, which were really cool! Monica and I also got to meet Pam from The Arrows. We walked around more and we saw Ryan O'Connor and Elana Afrika. To my surprise, they knew who I was, which was totally awesome! I got to also meet Stephen Werner, who is a producer of KFM. I talked to him for a while, saying that I still have my Pumped up for Summer sticker that I received last year when KFM was by corner of Wetton Road.

The next act I saw on stage was Elvis Blue. He performed "Save Me", which is my favourite song from him. After a few songs, Elvis Blue welcomed Dan Patlansky on stage, and I must say that it was an amazing performance. I last saw Dan Patlansky at Kirstenbosch in January and he was really good. This performance with Elvis Blue and Dan Patlansky was very nice and they are really talented guys! I got to meet Elvis Blue at the Merchandise table. I told him that it was me who made the KDay picture especially for KDay and he said that he wanted to meet me. I got a picture taken with him and he signed one of my T-shirts I bought with me to KDay.

The next act was The Parlotones. They were amazing! (Beyond Amazing actually.). I wasn't near the stage, but I could hear everyone going crazy for The Parlotones. I was happy that they performed "Save you best bits" as it is their new single and there will be a new music video for this song, and I am featured in this music video. It felt like The Parlotones performed for a long time, but I didn't mind, I loved their performance, they are so talented and they are one of the reasons why I am Proudly South African. South Africa really has great music bands who have worked so hard to get to where they are today. The Parlotones were really great! I truly enjoyed their performance, Kahn jumped off the stage and I just heard the crowd go WILD! Many people that were standing next to me asked how will Kahn get back on stage, haha! It was a true question. Throughout their performance, I was standing in the queue at the merchandise table, after I met Elvis Blue, while The Parlotones were performing, I saw Cassidy and I went to ask her if she can maybe call Lee Downs, and she did. Wow! She is such a wonderful girl! She is really kind and really sweet! She came back with Lee Downs and he signed a card and I got a picture taken with him. He is such an awesome guy! I listen to his afternoon drive on 94.5 KFM every weekday with Keri Miller.

After I chatted to Lee Downs, I went back the line to get my merchandise signed. The queue was very long and it felt like ages just to get to the front. I think the reason for that is people were pushing in, which was unfair. Anyway, Monica and her mom came to me in the line as I was in line for them because I have already met The Parlotones, so I wasn't too worried if I didn't get to meet them.

The next act was Flash Republic, who I was dying to see on stage. Their opening song was "Devastation", which was so cool because that is one of my favourite songs from them. I was also very happy that they performed "Killer Moves", which is my favourite song from them and is a totally AMAZING. I couldn't help but sing when they performed that song, one of the guitarists even licked his guitar. I was unable to meet Flash Republic as the line for Flash Republic to sign merchandise was too long and I have been basically standing there the whole day, so I went closer to the stage and stayed there.

The next act was Prime Circle. They definitely took my breath away with their performance. Just as I was going to take pictured of Prime Circle, my camera battery died, which was really sad! All I can say is that prime Circle was really Fantastic on stage! Word cannot describe how amazing they were, seriously! I cannot describe how amazing they were! My friend and I just danced like mad and were rocking it out to Prime Circle's songs.

After their performance, Locnville came on stage. Their performance was cool! They played most of the songs I like on their "Running to Midnight" Album. My friend and I were getting tired from dancing, but we kept on. Locnville's music really makes you dance, you cannot help but dance and go crazy. They did, however, play a new remix, which took me by surprise and left me speechless. I really wanted to record the song, but my camera batteries were really dead, which was truly upsetting! I was happy to see the rest of Locnville's performance, it was truly Amazing! I was so happy they performed "6 Second Poison", which is my favourite song off their "Sun in my Pocket" Album. Their performance is always Fantastic! I also did see Sarah-Jan Nicholson at KDay and she looked very pretty! She is really an amazing girl, very kind and very sweet, I always say that she is a Super-Awesome Girl!
After their performance, I didn't have the energy to stand in line to meet Locnville and have merchandise signed as my feet were killing me. Plus, I have met them already at KFM's Front Row Friday and at the Cornetto Festival, so I didn't mind and my camera batteries were dead. I also had to leave as it was getting late. As I was leaving, I think it was people who work at Val de Vie gave us a bottled water and a pamphlet. As I got into my car, Monica, her mom and I left Val de Vie, but wow! It was hectic because there was traffic!

Overall, I had One Heck of an Amazing time at KDay! it was my very first time to KDay and let me tell you if you weren't there, you missed out on so much fun! From the excitement to the actual day to the wonderful venue to meeting the KFM Presenters to all the music artists that performed on stage, it was really one of the best days ever for 2012! I cannot thank 94.5 KFM enough for organizing this day, it was really a great experience to see the music artists and to mostly see the spectacular and awesome KFM Presenters. I could not believe all of the KFM Presenters knew who I was, it was totally Fantastic! Another reason why i love KFM is because all the KFM Presenters are so kind and very sweet, not one of them were rude to anyone. They are all truly amazing!
Also a big thank you to Look & Listen and The Greek Merchant.for selling Albums, T-shirts, Caps, necklaces, earrings and vests!
If you'd like to purchase anything from The Greek Merchant, here is their website:

I cannot think of a better Merchandise team like The Greek Merchant. Seriously! They are the best online-store I know. The person that is in charge of The Greek Merchant is: Yiorgos Spanoudis.
A BIG Thank you to KFM for everything! I really appreciate all your hard work and effort you put into organizing KDay! The weather was wonderful, the venue was lovely and it was the perfect day for KDay. I also love KFM merchandise I received from the KFM members this day!
KDay took place at Val de Vie Estate.

Thank you to everybody who attended KDay!
Thanks for Reading!

The Graeme Watkins Project Live at the V&A Waterfront

I arrived at the V & A Waterfront around lunch time, when I was meant to be there at only 6pm to watch The Graeme Watkins Project. Even though I arrived very early before 6pm (It must have been 02:30pm). I went with my friend, Monica and her mom, Mary-Anne to the Waterfront. We walked to the amphitheatre, only to notice it was quite packed with people. We found a spot right in front by the stage. Monica and I went into the Waterfront mall. Mary-Anne sat by the amphitheatre with her little blue umbrella. We (Monica and I) walked around the Waterfront, our first stop was McDonald's. I looked at the McFlurry's only to notice that there was Cornetto Sundae's and Cornetto McFlurry. I didn't but one, but I cannot believe that it was Cornetto.Cornetto is my number: 1 favourite ice-cream.

After McDonald's, we went to Pick 'n Pay, only then did I buy a Cornetto ice-cream. I have seen that my favourite flavor, strawberry (Strawberry Kisses), is quite hard to find in any shop I have been to.I was so happy that I the Waterfront had my favourite flavor of Cornetto ice-cream. It's funny how what you want, you cannot have or it is hard to find your favourite thing, but it is not hard for other people.

After Pick 'n Pay, we went to Melissa's shop. My friend and I bought a BOS Ice Tea. BOS Ice Tea is a great drink to have, it is organic and one of my favourite drinks to have. We walked to the Mega Musica store, we saw a table full of the Twilight Saga merchandise. Monica bought two New Moon wrist bands.

After all that, we went back to the amphitheatre and sat there for a while. it was still quite a bit of time left before The Graeme Watkins Project performed.

After sitting, Monica and I went to the monument that is made out of Coca-Cola crates and both its fingers have a peace sign showing. We took some pictures of us standing by the monument. It was so amazing to see such a lovely view. I was looking at what an amazing view the Waterfront really has. The boats, the restaurants, the red clock tower, the water and the beautiful scenery.

After taking pictures and laughing as we took them, we went back to the amphitheatre. As we sat down, we turned around and saw Graeme Watkins by his family. Monica and I went to say "Hello" to him, we got to get a picture with him. He knew who Monica was as she has been talking to him for a while and when I introduced myself to him, he said that he has seen me in pictures on facebook with Monica. I was shocked when Graeme said he knew who I was. Haha! That was so cool. We saw the other band members (Matt, Rudo and Ryno) and chatted to them for a little bit. We went to sit back by our seats.

The Graeme Watkins Project came on stage and set up the sound system etc. When Ryno started playing his guitar, the speakers started making a hissing sound, Graeme told the people who were dealing with the sound and then Graeme did a pose like a snake, which was too funny! Monica and I got up and stood by the stage. When The Graeme Watkins started their music, Graeme started to jump around and I must say, he is very much alive on stage. I was so happy when he sang "Blood shot Eyes". It's my favourite song off their album. Many people may have not been standing, but they were moving around in their seats.

After about 3-4 songs, Graeme asked if everyone can stand and dance, so everyone did. Monica's mom came to us by the stage and we all danced. Graeme asked the audience to repeat after him with these words "Soldier on". He came to Monica and I and sang "Soldier on" and then put the mic to me and I sang as well, he did it again and then went off going crazy on stage. It was really cool to watch The Graeme Watkins Project Live on stage. It was a really great performance, I thoroughly enjoyed it. the other band members were also very much alive on stage, dancing from side-to-side to jumping up and down, it was a really great experience to see them on stage. They are a really Awesome band! Monica and I danced to every song that was performed. To be honest, this was my very first time i have ever seen The Graeme Watkins Project perform Live.

After their performance, my friend's mom started the whole "We want more" and we all clapped screaming "We want more". Ha! Monica's mom even hit the wood part on the stage, and then The Graeme Watkins Project came back on stage and performed one last song.
After their performance, we chatted to the band members for a little while. Monica and I got a picture taken with the whole band together and then we all said "Goodbye" and Mary-Anne, Monica and I went home.
I must say that I really enjoyed this day, it was one of the best days in my life!

Thank you everyone who read this Blog!
Many Thanks!

Cornetto Love is in the Air Musical Festival 2012 - Cape Town

Where do I begin? Wow! This was such an amazing day, this was really one of the best days of my life!
I have to say, In January 2012 I bought myself a Cornetto Festival ticket, but I found out on Friday 24 February that i won DOUBLE tickets to the Cornetto Festival, so I was stuck with 2 more tickets Haha!
To begin with, I was busy waiting in the queue to get into the Cornetto Festival, when I heard the music on stage. The artists were busy with sound checks to see if everything was running smoothly. It felt like hours before we could enter the festival. When I entered the festival, I met a woman who worked for Cornetto at the Festival and she know who I was. That was totally cool! Just as I was going to give my ticket in, I realized I won 2 tickets, so I was left with two more tickets. Wow! I was really shocked.
Anyway, as I entered the festival with my friend and sister, there was a photographer walking toward us as he was taking a picture, so all of us stopped and posed for the camera. We all walked directly towards the stage and sat and chilled there for the time being. I looked up and saw DJ Fresh on stage. It was my first time I have ever seen him at a show, and I must say, he is so Cool! He was the Host for the day, which was so awesome! he is really and amazing  person!

Ready D came on first, and I must say he was Spectacular! Everyone all stood up and started dancing. His performance was really good, honestly, I haven't really listened to Ready D, but wow! He was really good, everyone just danced and there was even a group of people dancing like crazy.
Suddenly after about half way through Ready D's performance, the power went out, but it stopped at a perfect time. It was Queen's "We will Rock You" and when the sound went off, everyone started singing, but we didn't know that the power went off. Everyone was screaming "Eskom" all the time. While the power was off, we all chatted and took more pictures of the Festival and I saw some people walking away from the stage.

When the sound was back on, I turned around and just saw people running back to the stage and we all started dancing to Ready D's Awesome Music! At the end of Ready D's performance, he went all DJ and rapped on his Record Cd. He rapped it with his foot, face and hands! It was Nicely Done Haha!
DJ Fresh came back on stage and handed out Cornetto Ice-Cream to random people in the crowd. He then called the four winners for the Cornetto "Love is in the Air" Message, one of the four winners was going to win the ultimate prize. We waited for about 7 minutes or so and then a plane was in the Sky with the Winner "Love is in the air" message: "There's No Sunlyt if I lose You".

DJ Fresh welcomed December streets on stage. Their performance was good. Honestly, I haven't really listened to any of December Streets songs, but I have heard their songs on 5FM. They started off by playing an Aristercats song. I looked around at the crowd of people and everyone was going crazy and were jumping up and down. When Tristan Coetzee took off his shirt and performed, ALL the girls went crazy and shouted and screamed! In between their songs, Tristan threw 2 of the December Streets and a few stickers saying "The December Streets" on it. One sticker landed on me, but a girl grabbed the sticker off me, I just ended up laughing!

After they performed, DJ Fresh came on stage and gave out Cornetto Ice-Cream and T-Shirts out to everybody. He then welcomed Jax Panik. the minute Jax Panik came on, I couldn't believe my eyes. Every Single person in the crowd all jumped up and run towards the stage and we all started dancing and I must say that Jax Panik was so Awesome! My sister and I really danced, it felt like we were all in a club, I got that club feeling, we all danced, screamed, shouted and even more screaming! Jax Panik really knows how to make a crowd of people dance! One time, Jax Panik came down from the stage and put hand out and ran  to the left of the crowd and then to the right of the crowd and then went back on stage. Jax Panik jumped and they danced. They were also quite funny when they sang "Sex me Slowly", we all just laughed, it was really funny. Jax Panik moved their waists from side to side, and so did everyone in the crowd, even I did.
They even played the song "Internet Friends" which totally Cool! They also played Dub step music, which was Incredible! Music everyone can really dance to. i turned to the side and saw a couple of girls flicking their hair back and fourth. I remember Jax Panik sprinkled water from his water bottle and it went all over the crowd, which was pretty cool, because we didn't mind. After he finished his water, he threw the bottle to the crowd and I just saw hands in the air trying to grab the bottle.

After Jax Panik performed, DJ Fresh came on stage and asked for four girls to come up and sing. They all sang, their voices were amazing! they chose a winner, then DJ Fresh welcomed Locnville on stage. I had to block my ears because ALL the girls SCREAMED so LOUDLY!

They started with the song "Kingdom Come" which just made everybody jump up and down and dance to the beat. Andrew and Brian performed very lively (As they always do). After a couple of Locnville's songs were sung, Andrew picked up Cornetto T-Shirts and tossed it to the crowd, which nearly made my sister and I collapse into the metal fence that was right in front of us. Luckily nobody got hurt. Locnville played "Head to the Sky" which is one of my personal favourites at the moment, I was very Happy when I heard this song play, it just put a HUGE SMILE on my face. When Locnville played "Sun in my Pocket", they asked if all of us (The crowd) can sing the song, so we sang, then Locnville sang as well. Their last song was "6 Second Poison", which is my Favourite song off their "Sun in my pocket" Album. I had a feeling they were going to play this song. Everyone jumped up and down started singing as well. I also remember Brian holding his bottle of water. He opened the water and sprinkled the water all of the crowd, which was very cool because it was very hot.
After Locnville's performance, most of the people went to meet DJ Fresh and some went home. I was busy waiting at the merchandise table, along with other people for Locnville to sign the merch. I saw their Manager, Sarah-Jane Nicholson and I must say that she is really a very kind person and very down-to-earth.
Locnville came and signed everyone's merchandise. After that, you were allowed to take a snap with them. After that, I went home.
There was also a merchandise table, which was called "The Greek Merchant". When I was by the stage at the beginning of the Festival, my friend and I went over to the merchandise table and we met the person who is in charge of "The Greek Merchant". His name is Yiorgos Spanoudis. He is a very nice person, very kind and funny as well. It was cool that he knew who we (My friend and I) were. As the day went on, my sister and I went back to the merchandise table, we bought a cap each and my sister got a Jax Panik CD and T-Shirt. I must tell you that the people who worked at "The Greek Merchant" were all very kind and there was not the slightest of mean in them. They are very helpful people, they helped out my sister and I when we chose a Villey Cap. None of them were miserable or unkind, they were happy and smiling and they chatted to us. Their service was very good, I rate that if you want to buy any South African artist's merchandise, buy it from "The Greek Merchant". Their merchandise ranges from T-shirts to posters to CD's and a whole lot more. Haha! I still remember telling Yiorgos that there will be a Cornetto Festival in Cape Town, Jo'berg and Durban. It was really great to meet him.

I must admit, I had so much fun at the Cornetto Festival! There was a competition where if you buy a Cornetto Ice-Cream, you scratch a card and see if you win a Cornetto Love is in the Air T-Shirt. I won 3 and gave 1 to my sister. I had Strawberry and Chocolate flavor Cornetto Ice-Cream. Wow! It felt like I was in heaven, Cornetto really IS the BEST Ice-Cream in the world!
Again, Big Ups to "The Greek Merchant", their service was more than helpful!
Here is their website if you'd like to purchase any merchandise: http://www.thegreekmerchant.com/
The security at the Cornetto Festival were a bit rude, but I guess that's their job. They were nice to everyone, but I felt sorry for them that they had to wear long-sleeve tops as it was so hot on this day, but I must admit that everything ran smoothly at the Cornetto Festival. It seemed to me that everyone had a lot of Fun! I know I did! I give my compliments to all the people who were working at the Festival. The photographers, security, the Cornetto people working there and everyone else who was working at the Festival!
Thanks for a Wonderful Day Out Cornetto! I hope that the other Cornetto Festival's will be as Awesome as this one!

An Idea for a Music Video "Little Too Far" - Locnville

"Little Too Far" from my perspective is about someone who took an incident that they did a little too far than what that person expected.

Some info:
People can audition to be featured in the music video.
It can be males and females.
Age Group: I believe it can be any age.

In all of Locnville's music videos that have been released, I haven't seen a person get upset with another person and leave that person. (Like one of those break-up music videos). I was thinking: Maybe instead of Locnville being the people who are the "main characters" (I can't exactly explain it, but I am trying to say that instead of Locnville being the two main people who are the ones taking an incident a little too far), they are singing in a studio. Maybe there can be people featured in the music video (Who audition) and act as the people taking something they said or did a little too far than what he/she expected and then the other person walks out on the person who took the incident too far. It switches between Locnville singing and the people who take something too far.

Some topics for the people who take an incident a little too far than what they expected can be:
1. Overreacting in a fight
2. Emphasize a problem the person has
3. Took someone for granted
4. Emphasize something that ends up creating a big problem
5. Loosing someone close to you ( A Loved One).

This is what I had in mind for the Locnville's "Little Too Far" song.
I hope that everyone will be content with my idea.
Here is a little something from me: I would just like to say that I want to be an actress when I am older and one of my goals is that I must be in front of the camera. Being in a music video would mean a lot to me if I was featured in a music video. It would help me out with being in front of the camera.

Thanks for reading,
I hope everyone enjoyed reading the idea I had in mind,
Many Thanks!
